NRC set to introduce e-ticketing to curb corrupt activities in the system
The Nigerian Railway Corporation is now set to deploy an electronic ticketing technology as a measure to combat illegal activities within the railway system.
Managing Director of the Nigeria Railways Corporation Fidet Okhiria disclosed this when he visited Moniya strain station in Ibadan to monitor the activities
The visit was to assess the station’s activities following a recent viral video that exposed illegal activities carried out by some NRC staff.
Mr. Okhiria condemned the act and revealed that proper punishment had been imposed on the perpetrators of such act.
He warned that anyone caught in the act again would not be spared.
The NRC MD revealed that an electronic mean of issue tickets will now be introduced to curb such illegal practice and also to ensure a seamless process of payment for tickets.
