Gov. AbdulRazaq Hails Tinubu’s Impact on North Central, Urges Continued Support Beyond 2027
Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as unprecedented development gains and national appointments benefiting the North Central region. He called on stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to sustain their support for the president, emphasizing the importance of long-term backing for national cohesion and economic growth.
Speaking at the APC North Central Zonal Stakeholders’ Meeting held Tuesday night in Abuja, Governor AbdulRazaq said the region has witnessed significant political recognition and infrastructure strides under Tinubu’s administration, unmatched in previous governments.
“The North Central has never been this favoured in national reckoning,” AbdulRazaq said. “Yet, our region stands to gain a lot more.”
Among the administration’s notable contributions, he highlighted the creation of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) in May 2024, which he credited to constructive dialogue between regional leaders and President Tinubu. He noted that the appointment of indigenes from the region to lead the commission marked a historic win for the zone.
“Our sons and daughters have been appointed to lead the commission. This is a big win for us, and we are grateful to Mr. President,” he stated.
Governor AbdulRazaq acknowledged the early challenges of Tinubu’s presidency but affirmed that the administration’s economic reforms are beginning to show results, with improvements in key economic indicators.
He also praised federal initiatives such as the national forest guards policy, describing it as a smart integration of local communities into the national security framework.
In closing, AbdulRazaq urged APC members and political leaders across the region to maintain their unity and continue supporting the president beyond the 2027 elections. He described this continuity as essential for maintaining the momentum of development and strengthening the region’s influence in national affairs.
“We must stay the course. This is good for national cohesion, sustained economic growth, and political stability,” he concluded.
