Mohammed Bello-Led Excos Resume as Court Strikes Out Case Against KCSF for ‘Want of Diligence’
In a significant legal victory for civil society in Kano State, the High Court No. 4, presided over by Hon. Justice Usman Mallam Na’abba, has affirmed the legitimacy of the Kano Civil Society Forum (KCSF) election held on June 8, 2024.
The ruling, delivered on November 19, 2024, struck out the case (Suit No K/M577/2024) filed by Ibrahim Waiya and seven others against the Registered Trustees of KCSF and 28 others, vacating all previous orders challenging the election.
The decision solidifies the position of Mohammed Bello as the duly elected President of KCSF, alongside other executive members. This outcome is seen as a major step forward in upholding democratic processes within civil society organizations in the state.
