Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia has come forward to challenge long-standing rumors about his personal life, particularly the widely held belief that he is a womaniser. In a heartfelt interview with Voice of Nigeria, which was shared earlier this week, 2Baba took the opportunity to clarify misconceptions about his relationships and discuss his role as a father.

In the interview, the award-winning musician, who has been in the public eye for over two decades, reflected on how his fame has often led to misunderstandings about his character. He addressed the persistent notion that he is a womaniser, saying, “The biggest misconception about me is that I’m a womaniser. I like women; I’m just straightforward. But I’m a lover boy. I love hard.”

Despite the controversy surrounding his romantic life, 2Baba emphasized that his heart is full of love, and his personality is often misunderstood. For him, loving deeply is not a flaw but a defining part of who he is.

When the conversation turned to fatherhood, 2Baba shared his struggles with balancing his music career and raising his children. With eight kids to care for, he expressed both gratitude and sadness, acknowledging that his busy schedule has kept him from being as present in their lives as he would like. “I have eight kids now. I feel blessed and happy, but the sadness comes from the fact that I haven’t gotten to spend the type of time I should have spent with them collectively. It does something to me sometimes,” he said, his voice filled with emotion.

Despite these challenges, he spoke highly of his children, describing them as brilliant and amazing individuals who continue to bring him immense pride. “They’re amazing, brilliant people. I just wish I was there more. It touches me from all corners,” he confessed, underlining the depth of his love and pride for his family.

2Baba also responded to criticism regarding his wife, Natasha, who has often been unfairly portrayed in the media. Accusations that she is controlling or too influential in his decisions have circulated, and the musician was quick to dismiss these narratives. He expressed his admiration for his wife’s strength and intellect, saying, “Everybody has a say in everybody’s business now. Sometimes people say very nasty things. You grow thick skin, but sometimes it gets to you. Reality is reality, she’s a brilliant woman, a strong woman.”

While 2Baba’s public persona may give off the impression of a confident, outgoing individual, he also shared a more personal side of himself that many may not be aware of. Contrary to his stage presence, the singer admitted that he is naturally shy and introverted. His profession often forces him to step outside of his comfort zone, but he enjoys moments of solitude and connecting with nature. “My profession doesn’t permit me to be shy, but I’m actually a very shy person. Sometimes I just want to be alone and chill. Other times I want to hang out. I like nature; I have my moments,” he revealed.

In a world where celebrity lives are constantly under scrutiny, 2Baba’s candid conversation sheds light on the complexities of fame, family, and personal identity, giving fans a rare insight into the man behind the music.
