Public holiday has been declared for Friday, May 21.
According to Newsone, the Oyo State Government has declared Friday, May 21, 2021, a public holiday.
The Friday public holiday, was made known in a statement on Thursday by Governor Seyi Makinde’s spokesman, Taiwo Adisa.
The governor approved the holiday to enable the state conduct a hitch-free local government election scheduled for Saturday, May 22, 2021.
Governor Makinde advised residents to carry out their activities peacefully, and go to their respective areas en masse to vote.
Newsone also reports that the governor reminded them that voting was their civic responsibility and urged them to participate.
