The impeachment proceedings of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has witnessed a lot of back and forth. Earlier four senators withdrew from his impeachment but the four senators have made a u-turn.
The four senators had few days called for an amicable resolve of the strive between Governor Fubara and members of Rivers State House of Assembly. But in a u-turn these senators are now supporting the impeachment proceedings.
This comes after Rivers Lawmakers on Friday stated that the impeachment of Fubara and his deputy will prevent breakdown of law and order in the state.
The lawmaking house had last week commenced the impeachment proceedings against Fubara and his deputy over allegations of misconduct and others. This includes the demolition of the Assembly complex and the alleged spending of public funds without legislative approval.
Surprisingly, the four lawmakers, during a press conference on Friday, stated the governor has not given them any reason for them to back down.
