A state of emergency has been declared in Arad, southern Israel, following a deadly missile strike reportedly linked to Iran that left dozens of people injured.

Reports indicate that emergency services rushed to the scene, where at least 70 individuals were said to have been affected by the attack. Medical personnel and rescue teams were deployed across different parts of the city to provide urgent care and assess the damage.

Residents described moments of panic as air raid sirens blared shortly before the missile struck. Several buildings were damaged in the incident, while search and rescue operations continued to ensure no victims were trapped under debris.

Ambulances transported the injured to nearby hospitals, with some reported to be in critical condition.

The attack comes amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, with both countries reportedly engaged in a series of retaliatory strikes in recent days. Southern regions of Israel, in particular, have experienced repeated attacks, increasing concerns over civilian safety and the resilience of the country’s defence systems.

Meanwhile, the United Kingdom has reportedly granted the United States permission to use its military bases to launch strikes against Iranian missile sites targeting ships in the Strait of Hormuz. The move has drawn strong criticism from Iran, which described it as a direct involvement in the conflict.
