In a recent interview with DJ Akademiks, Kanye West criticized American rappers, claiming that many lack a solid understanding of the legal and business sides of the music industry, often relying on outsiders for assistance in those areas. The American rapper encouraged his peers to learn from Nigerian Afrobeats artists, Jewish investors, and Chinese and Indian tech experts. West stated, “Until people get their act together like the Nigerians, the Chinese, the Jewish, or like the tech Indians, everything I’m saying counts.” He added, “None of these rappers are as smart as me. I can’t say that about the tech guys—that’s a different level. But artists are pretty clueless, man. They can’t even count properly. Jewish people and lawyers run everything for them—their businesses, the contracts, the setups, etc.” West concluded, “Okay, go ahead and try to run a whole record label without a Jewish person involved. I’ll take back what I said. Try to set up a TV network and make it run without a Jewish investor. Let’s see how that turns out.”
