The Federal Government has announced that Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, will be public holidays in celebration of Eid-il-Fitr.
This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government. He offered heartfelt congratulations to the Muslim community for successfully completing their Ramadan fast.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo encouraged Muslims to uphold values such as self-discipline, compassion, generosity, and peace. He highlighted the significance of love, forgiveness, and unity in fostering a peaceful society.
Furthermore, he expressed the hope that the joyous occasion of Eid-il-Fitr would promote greater solidarity among diverse religious and ethnic groups.
The Minister also urged citizens to celebrate responsibly and safely, and to extend kindness and charity to those in need, embodying the true essence of Ramadan and Eid.
