Two United States military aircraft were shot down in separate incidents on Friday during combat operations targeting Iran, prompting an urgent search-and-rescue mission for a missing service member.

According to U.S. officials, an F-15 fighter jet and an A-10 attack aircraft were both brought down by hostile fire in different locations. While some crew members were successfully recovered, one individual remains unaccounted for, triggering an ongoing rescue operation.

The situation escalated further when two search-and-rescue helicopters deployed to locate the missing personnel also came under attack. Although both helicopters sustained damage and crew members were injured, they managed to return safely to base.

Officials say efforts to locate the missing crew member are still underway as military operations in the region continue.
