Missing for Four Years, Actress Jumoke George’s Daughter Returns from Mali
Relief and emotions ran high at the headquarters of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) as Adeola, the 41-year-old daughter of veteran Nollywood actress Jumoke George, was officially welcomed back to Nigeria after being missing for four yeyears.
Adeola’s return was made possible through the combined efforts of NiDCOM, the Nigerian Embassy in Mali, and Nollywood actress and media personality Abiola Adebayo. Adebayo, who hosts the podcast “Talk to B,” had initiated the process that led to Adeola’s return after interviewing her mother, who revealed the distressing story of her daughter’s disappearance.
According to George, Adeola had left behind her two children and had been unreachable for years. The actress, who has been living in a church for the past six years while battling health issues, described her daughter’s return as “nothing short of a miracle.”
“I have cried. I have prayed. And now, I can finally hold my daughter again,” George said tearfully during the reception.
Abiola Adebayo recounted how she traced Adeola to Mali after the podcast episode aired, during which George shared her ordeal. Once contact was established, Adeola expressed her readiness to return home. With diplomatic support from the Nigerian Embassy and NiDCOM’s intervention, she arrived safely in Lagos on Monday afternoon.
The Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, was present at the reception to formally welcome Adeola, commending all parties involved for their swift action and compassion.
