Nigerian music sensation Divine Ikubor, widely known as Rema, has achieved a historic milestone, becoming the first African artist to reach 3 billion streams on YouTube Music.

The impressive feat comes through the Ultra version of his debut album, Rave & Roses, which has now become the most streamed African album on the platform. This achievement was officially confirmed on Wednesday, solidifying Rema’s place in global music history.

In addition to this YouTube triumph, Rave & Roses Ultra has also made waves on Spotify, where it has amassed 3.9 billion streams, making it the most streamed African album on the platform to date. It is the first African album to surpass the 2 billion stream mark on Spotify and remains the only Nigerian project to achieve this.

The album’s global appeal has been significantly boosted by Rema’s chart-topping hit “Calm Down”, and its remix featuring American pop star Selena Gomez. The original and remixed versions of the track contributed a substantial portion of the album’s total streams, reinforcing Rema’s international impact.

This streaming milestone marks a major breakthrough not just for Rema, but for the entire African music industry, as it continues to gain recognition and influence across the globe.
