One killed as gunmen abduct bizman
Gunmen in the early hours of Monday kidnapped a popular businessman in Gangarbi Village of the Rogo Local Government Area of Kano State, Alhaji Nasiru Na’ayya.
An eyewitness who is a relation of the victim, who confirmed the incident, said the abductors stormed the businessman’s residence at about midnight on Monday.
He said on arriving at the residence, they started shooting indiscriminately into the air, an action that attracted the attention of the victim’s neighbours.
“When residents of the area attempted to prevent the gunmen from going with the victim, they shot two people, which led to the death of one instantly and another was injured and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital,” the eyewitness added.
When contacted, the spokesman for the state police command, SP Abdullahi Haruna, confirmed the incident saying he was waiting for the Divisional Police Officer from the area to give him details.
He promised to get across to our correspondent as soon as he gets the details.
He had yet to do so as of the time of filing this report.
