Renowned Nigerian rapper and YBNL boss, Olamide, has released his highly anticipated self-titled album, Olamide, reaffirming his status as one of Africa’s most influential music figures.

Olamide built anticipation by dropping two singles. The first, Kai, features the legendary Wizkid — who appears on two tracks on the album. The second, 99, brings together Asake, Seyi Vibez, Young Jonn, and Daecolm for a dynamic, multi-artist performance.

Olamide has spent over a decade at the forefront of Nigeria’s music industry. Through his YBNL imprint, he has launched and shaped the careers of some of Afrobeats’ biggest stars — including Lil Kesh, Adekunle Gold, Fireboy DML, and Asake — securing his legacy as a tastemaker and industry powerhouse.

This release follows his 2023 project, Ikigai (a Japanese term meaning “a reason to live”), which delivered fan favorites like Metaverse, Habibi, and Uptown Disco featuring Asake and Fireboy.

Released on June 19, 2025, the 17-track album is Olamide’s 11th solo project, reflecting his evolution and sustained relevance in a constantly shifting global music landscape. This new body of work features an impressive mix of Nigerian and international collaborators, including Wizkid, Asake, Seyi Vibez, Young Jonn, BOJ, Darkoo, and SPINALL. Global stars such as American hip-hop icon Dr. Dre, Jamaican dancehall heavyweight Popcaan, and Latino sensation Daecolm also lend their voices to the project.

With Olamide, the rapper not only expands his already impressive discography but also reasserts his place among Nigeria’s most enduring and versatile musical icons.
