Lawyer Abayomi Ajaiyeoba Whint has been sworn in as a Judge of King’s County in New York, USA.

 

The Nigerian Diaspora Commission, led by Hon. Abike Dabiri, has congratulated Nigerian lawyer Abayomi Ajaiyeoba Whint on her appointment as a Judge of King’s County in New York, USA.

 

Her swearing-in ceremony took place at Brooklyn Law School, followed by a celebration at the Nigerian Embassy in New York, hosted by Consul-General Ambassador Abubakar Jidda.

 

In a congratulatory message, the Commission said, “We celebrate Nigerian-American lawyer Abayomi Ajaiyeoba Whint, who has just been sworn in as a Judge of the Kings County Civil Court, New York City, in the United States of America. With over 20 years of experience as a litigator, mediator, and arbitrator, her accomplishment is an inspiring testament to her dedication and skill.”

Abayomi Whint graduated from Rutgers School of Law-Newark in May 2004, where she was an associate editor of the Race and the Law Review. She is currently a Legal Enforcement Attorney in the FDNY’s Bureau of Legal Affairs Enforcement Unit. She began her legal career at the New York City Law Department, serving as an Assistant Corporation Counsel in the Administrative Law Division.

Abayomi Whint has also been featured in the publication Conquering the Bar Exam: Insights for First-Generation and Minority Law Students.

In her spare time, she enjoys singing, Bollywood Zumba, African dance, dragon boat racing, and writing poetry.
