The battle against COVID-19 continues as Nigeria records 99 new cases of the deadly disease in nine states and the federal capital territory, Abuja.
The COVID result was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily update for Tuesday, November 2, 2021.
According to the agency’s update for Tuesday, the new cases were recorded in nine states and federal capital territory (FCT).
Bauchi and Plateau recorded the highest single-day cases with 24 infections each, followed by the FCT with 22 cases and Lagos nine cases.
Other states are Taraba (8), Kaduna (4), Edo (3), Kano (3), Bayelsa (1) and Rivers (1).
One person died of COVID-19 complications, raising the total death toll to 2,899.
The agency said 186 people were discharged after recovering from the infection.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Nigeria has recorded 212,150 COVID-19 cases and 203,524 recoveries.
