Mercy Nnenda Chinwo, now widely known as Mercy Chinwo Blessed, is a renowned Nigerian gospel musician, singer, and songwriter, born on September 5, 1991. She first gained recognition in 2017, showcasing her powerful vocals and later signing with Eezee Concepts Global (formerly GNT Nation Universal Music).
Recently, the talented gospel artist accused her former manager, Ezekiel Onyedikachi, of spreading false rumors regarding the paternity of her son. She also claims he attempted to coerce her into signing a 12-year contract, which she refused. In retaliation, he allegedly withheld her royalties for two years.
Mercy revealed that her ongoing legal battle with Onyedikachi, also known as EeZee Tee, began in 2019 when she declined his request to extend their contract. A statement from her lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, shed light on the persistent intimidation and isolation she faced from her former manager. In an emotional Instagram video, Mercy said, “What did I do? What have I done to you? I served you like a father. I was once your backup singer.”
She also recounted how Onyedikachi publicly claimed she had sued him, creating videos that damaged her reputation. “He looked at me and said, ‘I made you who you are, and I will destroy you,'” Mercy explained, sharing the bullying and threats she endured. She admitted to being terrified for her life, to the point where she had to leave Lagos for Port Harcourt because the environment had become toxic due to his actions.
Mercy also mentioned that the conflict escalated when she collaborated on a song with Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, as Onyedikachi reportedly harbors animosity toward the pastor.
