The Federal Government has announced that COVID-19 restrictions across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will be reintroduced, effective from Tuesday midnight.
This new directive was announced by Mukhtar Mohammed, a member of the Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) on COVID-19.
Mohammed, who is also the Head of Technical Secretariat of the PSC, made the announcement while briefing reporters on Monday in Abuja.
With the reintroduced restrictions, mass gatherings in public spaces have again been restricted to 50 people at a time.
The restrictions also mean that government meetings have been limited to the virtual platform.
According to Mohammed, the government has directed that bars and nightclubs remain closed and has reintroduced the nationwide curfew until further notice.
Although there was no announcement on a limit to intra-state travel, the PSC member mentioned that the Federal Government discourages non-essential international travel.
