The news was confirmed by the singer’s wife, Deola Art Alade, who took to Instagram to share the shocking experience. According to her, the car suddenly caught fire around 4 p.m. and was completely engulfed in flames.

“Yesterday, our car caught fire around 4 p.m. on the 3rd Mainland Bridge and burnt to the ground,” she wrote. “It was a shocking experience, but we are grateful that the driver was safe—and that is what truly matters. No lives were lost.”

In a joint statement released by the couple on Saturday, they emphasized the importance of life over material possessions.

“This reminds us of how unimportant material things become in the face of life itself,” the statement read. “What truly matters is that no life was lost. Cars can be replaced—lives cannot.”

Authorities have not yet released an official cause of the fire, but there were no reported injuries.

The incident adds to the growing concerns about vehicle safety on Nigerian roads, particularly in high-traffic areas like the Third Mainland Bridge.
