The office of the Attorney General of the Federation has withdrawn the criminal defamation case against Senator Natasha Akpoti, the senator representing Kogi Central District.

The court documents made available online, reveals that the office of the Attorney General withdrew the defamation suits against Natasha on the 12th of December 2025.
The AG’s office filed a notice of discontinuance notifying the Federal High Court of its decision to terminate the criminal suita against Natasha. The suits were initiated following petitions by Senator Godswill Akpabio and Ex Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state.
Natasha had earlier accused the duo of Senator Godswill Akpabio and Yahaya Bello over alleged overturn of her position. She said this on Seun Okinbaloye’s Politics Today show.
This led to the filing of defamation suits against Natasha even her petition to the Inspector General of Police on threat to life was snubed. She charged of criminal defamation and cyberbulling for speaking out on the threat to her life.
