**APC Reaffirms 60/40 Power Sharing Agreement in Kano Amid Political Shifts**

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has confirmed the continuation of its 60/40 power-sharing arrangement between long-standing party members and recent defectors, according to the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.

In a move that has reshaped the political landscape in the state, Governor Abba Yusuf, who left the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in January, joined APC along with 22 members of the Kano State House of Assembly. The defection has brought significant momentum to the APC in the state, which is now tasked with integrating these new members into its leadership structure.

The APC’s national chairman made the announcement during a recent visit to Governor Yusuf, where he praised the party’s unity and the overwhelming support it has garnered in the region. Yilwatda expressed confidence in the party’s strength, particularly highlighting the large turnout at the gathering as a sign of APC’s dominance in Kano’s political scene.

Key political figures including former Deputy Governor Alhaji Yusuf Gawuna, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, and ex-APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje were commended for their steadfast support of Governor Yusuf’s leadership. Yilwatda acknowledged their significant roles in maintaining party cohesion and driving APC’s vision forward in the state.

Governor Yusuf, for his part, thanked the APC leadership for their ongoing support and reaffirmed his dedication to collaborating with the party to strengthen Kano’s political fabric. He also pledged to align his administration with President Bola Tinubu’s *Renewed Hope Agenda*, ensuring that APC’s vision for the future of Nigeria would be realized in Kano.

This ongoing collaboration between old and new APC members in Kano signals a deepening political alliance that aims to unify the state’s leadership and accelerate development under the banner of the ruling party.
