Veteran Fuji musician, General Kollington Ayinla, has made a bold declaration about his former wife and fellow music icon, Queen Salawa Abeni, asserting that she remains his wife despite their decades-long separation.

In a recent interview with media personality Teju Babyface, the 76-year-old music legend opened up about his relationship with Salawa Abeni, with whom he shares three children. Although the couple parted ways over 30 years ago, Kollington maintained that their bond remains intact.

“That’s how God wants it to be,” he said when asked about what transpired between them. “Salawa has three children with me. She is my wife till the end of life. She’s a celebrity. And just like how women chase after male musicians, it’s the same way that male fans chase after female stars. But a woman’s understanding is limited.”

Despite Abeni being in a relationship with another man, Kollington insisted that the connection they share is enduring. “No matter what I’m doing, she always turns up. She remains my wife. The person she is currently with is only loaning her,” he added.

Kollington also pointed out that Abeni has no children with her current partner, reinforcing his belief that their past and shared family keep them bonded for life.
