In a recent interview with Echo Room, Nigerian singer Orezi shared a story about an unexpected gift he received from a woman he met at a club in Abuja. Orezi recounted how, after a sexual encounter, the woman gave him N30 million.
He clarified, “I wouldn’t say she paid me for sex. She simply appreciated me for satisfying her. The highest amount I’ve ever received from a woman is N30 million, and this happened in 2016 in Abuja.”
He went on to explain, “I was completely shocked, I didn’t expect it. When I got back to Lagos, she messaged me to check in and asked for my account details. I gave them to her, and she sent me N30 million. When I showed my friends the alert, they were amazed that a woman could gift such a large amount to a man.”
Orezi continued, “She gave me the money because she liked me. If you care about someone, wouldn’t you spend on them? We weren’t in a relationship, but we shared something. I never asked for the money; she gave it to me willingly because I was a ‘fine boy.’ We went out, had fun, and went home together. She was a lovely Hausa woman. I was in Abuja, and my return flight to Lagos was the next day.”
He also mentioned that many male celebrities experience similar privileges, saying, “A lot of my colleagues enjoy the same thing. I believe it’s quite normal. I know several artists who benefit from such things. Just as there’s ‘fine girl privilege,’ there’s also the privilege that comes with being a celebrity.”
