Terry G Says He Paved Way for Nigerian Artistes to Publicly Smoke Cannabis
Taking to social media on Sunday, Nigerian singer Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, made a bold assertion about his cultural impact on the Nigerian music scene. In a post shared via his X (formerly Twitter) handle, he wrote:
“No hard feelings, it’s all love, but no forget say if no be my sacrifice, none of your fav go get liver to smoke Igbo for screen.”
Terry G, the Free Madness crooner, claimed that his controversial style and fearless persona helped normalize public cannabis use among Nigerian artistes—something he believes was taboo before his rise to stardom.
According to him, many artistes once lacked the boldness to display cannabis use openly on screen or in public. He said his daring behavior pushed boundaries and opened doors for today’s musicians.
Known for his eccentric performances and rebellious image, Terry G has built a reputation for challenging societal norms. His unapologetic attitude has sparked both admiration and criticism over the years.
