The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kwara State Command has ushered in a new leadership with the appointment of Commandant Bala Bodinga as the 15th substantive State Commandant. His deployment was confirmed by the NSCDC’s Commandant General, Ahmed Audi, as part of strategic initiatives to boost operational capacity and enhance security across Nigeria.
Commandant Bodinga, a highly respected and decorated officer, brings with him a wealth of experience in operational leadership and security management. Prior to his posting to Kwara, Bodinga served in leadership roles across several states, including Kebbi, Jigawa, and Kano, where he significantly improved operational strategies and reinforced local security frameworks. He also held a senior position as the National Arm Commander of the Special Forces at NSCDC’s headquarters in Sauka, Abuja, where he gained national recognition for his tactical proficiency.
In his first statement upon taking office, Bodinga issued a strong message to criminal elements operating in Kwara State, emphasizing that the state would not be a sanctuary for crime. He warned criminals, vandals, and anyone involved in illegal activities such as pipeline vandalism and illegal mining that they would face severe consequences under his leadership.
“Kwara will never be a safe haven for criminals,” Bodinga asserted. “The law will be fully enforced against anyone who threatens the security or sabotages the development of the state.”
The new Commandant emphasized the Corps’ readiness to confront crime head-on with increased operational efficiency and intelligence-driven strategies. He also highlighted the importance of collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, traditional rulers, and community leaders to create a more secure environment for Kwara residents.
Bodinga’s message was clear: his administration is committed to safeguarding lives, securing critical infrastructure, and maintaining peace across the state. He called on the public to stay alert and support the security efforts by reporting any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.
With Bodinga at the helm, the NSCDC Kwara Command is setting a firm tone in its bid to reinforce the safety and well-being of the people, promising that no criminal activity, big or small, will be tolerated under his watch.
