Worried over the insecurity situation in Imo state, Governor Hope Uzodinma’s led administration has conferred with the police on the way forward.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Affairs, Eric Uwakwe, met with the Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro, and Abba Kyari, the Head of the IGP Squad in Imo.
Uwakwe who applauded the resilience and response of the police to the challenges, further called for synergy between the security agency and the youths.
He condemned also the burning police stations and government parastatals by the hoodlums.
He stated that the government is commitment to partner with the Force in carrying out their obligations.
Yaro in his remark, hailed the delegation for seeking ways to curb insecurity in Imo.
He alleged that the major causes of insecurity in the state were political pressure, agitations, migration of violent criminals from the Niger Delta.
The CP disclosed that for improved community policing, the command will recruit locals into relevant units.
