Former Gambian National Coach, Kashimawo Laloko dies at 76

Ex-Gambia national football coach and former technical director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Kashimawo Laloko, is dead.

Laloko, who also coahed the famous Stationery Stores Football Club of Lagos, died on Sunday at the age of 76 years.

He reportedly died at Sacred Hearts Catholic Hospital, Abeokuta, after a brief illness.

Popularly called ‘Duro Amene’ by his friends and fans, Laloko was the founder of Pepsi Football Academy, Lagos which has produced the likes of John Mikel Obi, since its inception in November 1992.

Until his death, he was the Olori Parakoyi of Egbaland, Ogun State.

Laloko, an old boy of the famous Abeokuta Grammar School, will be buried on Monday(today) at his Gbonagun residence in Abeokuta according to Islamic rites
