- The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has said there is the need to weed out the bad eggs in the Nigeria Police Force to stop the bad name being given to the security outfit.
According to the Speaker, while there are many good officers and men of the NPF, the few bad ones are creating problems for the outfit.
The PSC Act amendment bill is a product of the recent nationwide #EndSARS protests, in which the House has proposed various reforms in the police system.
At the event are the Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammed Dingyadi; Chairman, PSC, DIG Musiliu Smith (retd.); Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu; and representatives of the service chiefs.
Chairman of the committee, Usman Kumo, earlier in his opening remarks, urged the stakeholders to make their positions known, to guide the lawmakers on the proposed law.
