Over the years, American R&B superstar Chris Brown has often been compared to legendary performers like Michael Jackson and Usher—especially when it comes to his vocal and dance talents. He has also drawn comparisons with contemporaries such as T-Pain, Trey Songz, Mario, Akon, and Nelly.

However, the award-winning singer recently took to Instagram to express his frustration over constant comparisons, making it clear that his journey in the music industry has been largely self-driven.

“I wish y’all stop comparing me to other artists and saying me vs someone else,” Brown wrote. “Until one of these artists do all this sh*t by themselves with no help and the media constantly f**king with them, then come holla at me.”

Brown emphasized that he is not in the music game for accolades or rivalry but to make a living. He also reminded fans and critics alike of his longevity and hard work, noting that he has remained consistent for the past 20 years without relying heavily on industry support.
