Nollywood superstar Bukky Wright has officially announced her return to the Nigerian film industry after nearly two decades away. Having spent over 15 years abroad, the iconic actress shared that one of the main reasons for her hiatus was to focus on raising her children. Now, she is making a bold comeback, ready to embrace new roles and reconnect with her roots. This return is already generating excitement among fans and industry insiders, as she re-enters the scene and sets the stage for a fresh journey in Nollywood.
In a recent interview, Wright opened up about her decision to return, describing it as a permanent chapter in her career. Reflecting on her time away, she expressed eagerness to dive back into the industry, which has evolved considerably since her departure.
“It felt really good. It gave me the chance to see all these people again—people I haven’t seen in years,” she shared, expressing her gratitude to director Bukola Ogunsola, who cast her in the newly released film Something About the Briggs. This project marked her official return to Nollywood and reignited her passion for acting.
Despite her long break from the screen, Wright remains confident in her abilities. For her, acting is more than just a profession—it’s a natural gift. “Although I take on minor roles, I’ll tell you one thing: if it’s inbuilt, it’s inbuilt. Nothing can take that away from you,” she said, reaffirming her dedication to the craft.
Recently, Wright visited King Wasiu Ayinde to offer her condolences following the loss of his mother, and she was also featured in a skit.
