Buhari Congratulates Tinubu on Mid-Term, Urges Continued Support for APC Reforms
Former President Muhammadu Buhari has extended heartfelt congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on marking two years in office, praising his leadership and expressing hope for continued progress.
“I extend heartfelt congratulations to President Tinubu on his two years in office. May you continue to lead with wisdom and care,” Buhari said in a statement released Wednesday through his spokesperson, Mallam Garba Shehu.
He called on Nigerians to maintain unwavering support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration as it continues its reform agenda. Buhari emphasized that leadership is a continuous process and that meaningful change requires time and persistence.
“As the party and the government celebrate this mid-term milestone, the country must remember that reforms are not achieved overnight. Progress comes through gradual and sustained effort,” he noted.
The former president also urged citizens to remain hopeful and confident in Nigeria’s future. “Our expectations from our governments should not be overwhelming,” he added.
Buhari acknowledged the Tinubu administration’s efforts to tackle poverty and inflation, noting that economic hardship has impacted the country’s most vulnerable. However, he stressed that addressing these challenges should not rest on the government alone.
“The private sector and all of us as citizens must contribute in every way we can,” he stated.
Buhari further cautioned against allowing domestic political challenges to derail the reforms, encouraging a collective commitment to nation-building.
