Tinubu Forgives Sanwo-Olu, Says “All Is Forgiven” After GAC Intervention
In a dramatic show of reconciliation, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that he is no longer angry with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, stating that “all is forgiven.” The gesture of forgiveness followed a meeting with members of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) on Sunday afternoon in Lagos.
Chairman of the GAC, Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi, who welcomed the president to the state, disclosed that tensions had existed between the president and some key figures in Lagos, particularly Governor Sanwo-Olu. Olusi, speaking candidly during the meeting, told Sanwo-Olu that he was no longer angry with him and that “all his sins” had been forgiven.
Sources at the closed-door meeting revealed that GAC members had come specifically to plead with President Tinubu on behalf of the governor and others who may have fallen out of favour with him. Acknowledging that the president had been visibly displeased with certain individuals in the state, the delegation appealed for mercy and reconciliation.
In a moment that underscored the seriousness of the appeal, Governor Sanwo-Olu and other GAC members reportedly prostrated before the president — a traditional gesture of deep respect and contrition.
According to multiple sources present, President Tinubu responded calmly and reassuringly, saying, “It’s all over now. All is forgiven.” He then addressed the group, affirming that he no longer harboured resentment toward anyone in the room, including the governor.
The reconciliation marks a significant turning point in Lagos political dynamics and signals a renewed alignment between the state government and the presidency.
