Portable was arrested on Saturday in Abeokuta, Ogun State, and transported to Ilorin by operatives of the Kwara State Police Command over allegations of criminal intimidation, defamation, and threats to the life of Fuji musician Saheed Osupa.
The singer, Badmus Abeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, was granted bail on Tuesday following the withdrawal of the petition by Saheed Osupa, who was present in Ilorin for the case. Portable was released around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday after authorities modified his bail conditions.
Two of his wives were reportedly present during his release at the Oke-Kura Custodial Centre.
Sources revealed that Portable had his first meal on Tuesday morning since being incarcerated on Monday. It was also disclosed that three conditions were given for the withdrawal of the legal action: he must retract his statement, admit to making false claims, and sign an undertaking.
In a press release, Saheed Osupa’s team not only confirmed the withdrawal of the case but also provided clarity on the initial reasons behind the legal charges against Portable.
