Asake continues his meteoric rise in 2025 with a show-stopping performance at Boston’s Agganis Arena on April 12. The two-time Grammy nominee thrilled fans with electrifying renditions of his hit singles, including tracks from his critically acclaimed third album, Lungu Boy, released in 2024. He also performed his first single of 2025, Why Love, signaling his intent to extend his impressive streak of chart-topping hits.
The concert in Boston is part of what promises to be another busy year for the award-winning star. Asake has already been announced as a headliner for several major festivals, including the Yardland Festival in France.
His third studio album, Lungu Boy, continues to break records, debuting at No. 1 and holding the top spot for an unprecedented 15 consecutive weeks. It marks his third straight album to achieve this milestone, following the success of his sophomore project, Work of Art, which dominated 2023.
In recognition of his commercial success, Asake was recently named Nigeria’s Best-Selling Artist of 2024 by TurnTable Charts. This historic achievement makes him the first artist to receive the honor three years in a row.
Asake’s momentum shows no signs of slowing down as he garners six nominations at the upcoming 17th Headies Awards, including nods for Album of the Year and Song of the Year.
