Tinubu appoints Hakeem Muri-Okunola Principal Private Secretary
President Bola Tinubu has appointed the Head of Service in Lagos State, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, as his Principal Private Secretary.
Muri-Okunola, 51, also known as ‘HMO’, was Personal Assistant to Tinubu between 2003 and 2005 when he was the Governor of Lagos State.
Tinubu thereafter appointed him as the Executive Secretary of the Land Use and Allocation Committee.
With this development, Bode Agoro, the present Permanent Secretary in Lands in Lagos State will succeed Okunola as the Head of Service.
The son of late Justice Muritala Okunola, Hakeem was invited by Tinubu as the Lagos State Governor to serve as his Personal Assistant.
He had also previously served as Permanent Secretary, Youths and Sports Ministry. And prior to that, he was the Permanent Secretary for the Lands Bureau Ministry under former Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola.
He has been the Head of Service following the statutory retirement of Mrs. Folasade Sidikatu Adesoye on December 27, 2018.
Hakeem Muri Okunola has a Bachelor’s Degree (LLB) in Law from the Lagos State University and completed the mandatory Nigerian Law School in 1995.
He went on to obtain a Master’s degree in International Business Law (LLM) from Westfield College, Queen Mary University of London, England between 1998 and 1999.
