Temple Management holds Ramadan lecture in honour of Sound Sultan
The management of the Temple Management Company has held a Ramadan lecture to honour late entertainer Lanre Fasasi aka Sound Sultan.
The lecture, which culminated into an Iftar session, was held last Wednesday, April 12 in Lagos.
The event marked the second edition of the annual Sound Sultan Ramadan and Iftar lecture created by the Temple Management Company to honour the late singer, actor, and writer.
For the second edition, Islamic scholar Jubril Saba delivered the lecture to attendees of the event.
The speaker, Saba, tasked the entertainers to leverage their mass influence to propagate virtues of Islam and good conduct in their sector. Saba described the late Sound Sultan as a devoted Muslim and a man with a sound heart. HE also prayed for the late singer, his wife, children and family.
While addressing the creative community, Saba admonished them to bring about lasting positive changes in society.
“We have a massive role to play in this effort, we must make a concerted effort at national orientation, harnessing our collective passions and desires in a common direction for a common purpose,” he said.
In the same vein, the Ramadan lecture and Iftar was also beamed live to fans, celebs and families of the late Sound Sultan via Zoom.
At the religious event are Sound Sultan’s widow, Farida, and his three children, Zara, Mayowa and Bidemi, who joined via Zoom. Also in attendance were the late singer’s brother, Dare Fasasi aka Baba Dee, the Chief Executive Officer of TMC and Ogidi Studios, Idris Olorunnimbe, friends, members and staff of the Temple Management Company and the media.
Notable entertainers present at the event include Bisola Aiyeola, Mimi Onalaja, Maryam Bakre ala Moricoco, VJ Adams, D’ija amongst many others.
