Group Urges Nigerians to support military in solving insecurity
National Security Assessment Group, has called on Nigerians to support the military in their quest to secure the country.
The group which expressed confidence in the Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Christopher Musa, said with support from citizens, the military would record more success in the various theatre of operations.
This was contained in a statement released on Thursday by the group’s President, Abiodun Idowu.
It reads, “We urge Nigerians to continue to support the Armed Forces of Nigeria under the indefatigable Chief of Defence Staff, Maj-Gen. C. G. Musa. He has a history of success and good relationships with troops during his time in the military. With the support of the citizens, much can be achieved. With the excellent human relationship the Chief of Defence Staff has always had with troops in his line of duty, it will get better in terms of welfare for AFN personnel.
He also commended the Armed Forces of Nigeria for continuing to uphold the welfare of eligible military retirees/Next of Kin of deceased military personnel.
NASG said welfare is one of the very motivating factors that will motivate our troops to go all out against the country’s enemies.
“We are grateful that the welfare of eligible military retirees/Next of Kins is now given utmost importance. It is a big relief for the affected, especially during this economic meltdown.
“Importantly, this is a morale booster for our troops engaged in various military operations across the country. As they fight to provide peace and stability in the country, they are assured that the country is behind them. Their sacrifices are not in vain,” the statement added.
