CRFFN Doesn’t ask for Cash Revenue from Freight Forwarders – Council Registrar
The acting Registrar, Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN), Chinyere Uromta, has asked freight forwarders in the country never to give cash to any of its staff as clearing fee.
She said the agency has since stopped collecting cash from freight forwarders in the country, saying that the action will help tame diversion of the collected funds.
The Registrar stated this at a training and induction program of the council’s staff held at its zonal office in Kano on Wednesday.
According to her, “We have since stopped accepting payments for registration and other services from freight forwarders in cash. All payments are now through digital channels.
“This is in line with mandate since my assumption of office in February this year. It will also help our target of becoming independent and also generating internal revenue to the government,” she added.
Uromta also said the training was organized to the staff to acquaint them with the requisite skills and knowledge on how to move the council forward thereby generating more revenue to the government coffer.
The council’s Registrar said they have engaged the services of consultants to train the staff on the global beat practices of freight forwarding
