The Magistrate Court in Yaba, Lagos, has acquitted renowned singer Abdulazeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley, in connection with the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. Alongside the musician, the court also cleared music promoter Samson Balogun, aka Sam Larry; Owodunni Ibrahim, also called Primeboy; and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde. Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje, in his ruling, stated that Naira Marley had no case to answer.

In a letter dated December 12, 2023, Naira Marley’s legal team referenced several statements made by Ojo in September, arguing that the content was malicious and had significantly damaged Marley’s reputation. The lawyer further claimed that the accused their client of being responsible for harm to the late Nigerian singer, Mohbad.

Additionally, one of Mohbad’s friends, Ayobami Sadiq, is set to be prosecuted for reckless and negligent acts under Section 251 (e) of the Criminal Law, Ch C.17, Vol.3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
