The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Worldwide, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has shared a heartfelt story of humility and faith, recounting how he convinced his wife, Titilope, to marry him despite having nothing to offer at the time.
Speaking during a recent gathering, the revered cleric revealed that he was far from the most eligible among his wife’s many suitors. “There were many of us contending for her hand,” he said. “I wanted to marry a beautiful princess, but I was the least qualified.”
Adeboye recalled that while one of the top contenders was a lawyer with a car, he was merely a student who got around on foot. Aware of his modest means, he chose honesty over pretense.
“I decided to let her know the truth,” he said. “I told her, ‘I have no money, no house, no influence—nothing. All I have is the little brain God gave me. If I have anything at all to offer, it is myself. If you will marry me, you will have me to yourself completely.’”
