Governors Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, all of whom are thought to be loyal to Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, boycotted the inauguration of the People’s Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council and the launch of a book in support of Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate.

Also absent from the event was the National Chairman of the PDP who, according to the Deputy National Chairman (North), Umar Damagum, was absent as a result of ill-health.

Other PDP governors believed to be loyal to the party’s presidential candidate were, however, in attendance.

They are the governors of Bauchi State’s Bala Mohammed, Bayelsa State’s Diri Duoye, Edo State’s Godwin Obaseki, Adamawa State’s Ahmadu Fintiri, Taraba State’s Darius Ishaku, Akwa Ibom State’s Udom Emmanuel, and Sokoto State’s Aminu Tambuwal.
