The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary election that produced Dauda Lawal Dare has once more been declared invalid by the Federal High Court in Gusau, Zamfara State.
Additionally, the party will not put out a candidate for governor in the 2023 governorship election, according to the ruling of the sitting judge, Justice Aminu Bappa.
The party’s governorship primary election that resulted in Dauda Lawal Dare was invalidated by the court in September 2022 due to a few irregularities.
The court claimed that the absence of female delegates rendered the election invalid and ordered the party to hold new elections with female delegates.
However, Dauda Lawal Dare also won the primary election on a second try with more than 400 votes, and one of the candidates, Shehu Bakaoye, once more refused the governorship primary.Dauda Lawal Dare’s camp members did not answer any calls, therefore attempts to reach them were futile.
