A group, under the auspices of the Peter Obi Support Network, said that its support for the presidential candidate of the Labor Party, Dr Peter Obi, was borne out of sefless determination to salvage Nigeria from its beleaguered situation.

The group, which described Obi as the best of all the presidential candidates, noted that the LP candidate would deliver better governance if elected next year.

The Coordinator of the group in Ondo State, Mr Francis Cyprian, stated this in Akure, the state capital after the inauguration of the group’s state executive members.

According to him, the POSN was a movement with a vision for better governance laced with the desired change.

He said, ” It is a movement with a vision for better governance. We want a change of status quo where we can have a country that we can call our own, a country where there is equity, justice and fair play. I assure you that Obi will bring all these .

“We are going to carry the responsibilities to our different local government areas in ensuring that we go door to door for sensitisation on our candidate and dissuade vote buying.

He urged the group’s members especially the newly inaugurated executives to work assiduously with focus and doggedness to achieve the group’s mandate.

“This is a wide movement across the country even though it is not funded by Peter Obi but members are funding it by themselves with selfless determination, focus and resilience to make sure that the desired change comes,” he noted.

Cyprian, who expressed optimism that Obi would emerge victoriously in the forthcoming presidential poll, pointed out that the LP candidate had the competence, credibility, soundness and charisma to be the country’s president.

In his remarks, the state Chairman of the LP, Mrs Remilekun Ojo, said the party was not a third force as being speculated by some people but a party that was making great wave in the political space of the current electioneering period.
