Boosting Economic Growth: FG Reiterates Support for SPEESE Project

The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the Sustainable Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards Enhancement (SPEESE) Project, aimed at expanding Nigeria’s skilled workforce and driving socio-economic development.

Ambassador Gabriel Aduda, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, expressed this commitment during a meeting with the World Bank’s SPEESE Task Team Leader, Mr. Ishtiak Siddique.

The Ministry is working to launch a Certification Portal, which will maintain social standards in Nigeria, reduce corruption, introduce digitalization, and create job opportunities for youth.

The SPEESE Project will strengthen capacity in managing procurement, environmental, and social standards, enhance skills of over 21,000 people, and certify 4,000 professionals.

The Certification Portal will certify graduates from six Centres of Excellence and extend certification to interested professionals.

The Federal Government’s support for the SPEESE Project demonstrates its dedication to promoting economic growth and enhancing the quality of life for Nigerians.
