Lawyer Mohammed Fawehinmi, first son of the late activist Gani Fawehinmi, died from COVID-19 related complications, the family has said.
Speaking on behalf of the family at a press briefing in Lagos on Thursday, Saheed, the older Fawehinmi’s second son, said: “The family could not immediately disclose the cause of our brother’s death because we wanted the information to be based on factual medical details especially as maybe contained in the death certificate.
“Today however, we are in a position to inform you that our dear brother died from COVID-19 related complications.”
The younger Fawehinmi died on August 11 at the age of 52.
His remains will be interred on Friday, August 27 at late Gani Fawehinmi’s compound in Oka, Ore Road, Ondo State.
