Former secretary of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Dr. Hakeem Baba Ahmed has been appointed Chief of Staff to Nigeria’s Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki.

In a statement by his Special Adviser (Media and Publicity), Yusuph Olaniyonu, Saraki said the appointment takes immediate effect.

Baba Ahmed attended the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria as well as London School of Economics and University of Sussex, both in the United Kingdom.

Until his appointment, the 61-year-old public servant was permanent Secretary at various times in the Presidency and later Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
