The 9th edition of the Nigeria’s Next Super Model is here. The contest which has produced some of Nigeria’s best models made its debut in 2007. Since then, there has been no looking back for the brain behind the show, Joan Okorodudu. Over the years, it has been the tradition of the organisers of NNSM to give out a brand new car to its winner, while the top 5 are given international modeling contracts/jobs which in turn launches them into the world of professional modeling on the runway. For this year’s show, registrations from various parts of the country and even some from outside the country were considered and the grand screening/audition took place in October and 15 girls and 10 guys have been short-listed for the reality TV show. The interesting thing about NNSM this year is that for the first time in NNSM history, male model are added into the project where they’ll be given the opportunity to “walk” their way to stardom. The winning prize for the female contestant is a brand new car, international modeling contracts/jobs, and cash prizes. Winning prize for the male contestant is cash prize, paid trip to Dubai and international modeling contracts/jobs. Music will be supplied by Harrisong, Vector, and special appearance by Denrele Edun and several others in this edition. While Layole Oyatogun and Waje will be hosting the event an old and ugly tale of child smuggling which dates back some years will be the only thing stopping the show, as many are yet to forget the allegations of Marcia Okhai and Cynthia Omorodion , two girls from Edo State, who were second and first runners up at the 2008 edition. – See more at: http://www.theoctopusnews.com/joan-okorodudu-returns-with-nnsm-season-9/#sthash.GZgD2LKM.i4tzCqMf.dpuf
