The highly anticipated BlackNBold entrepreneurship talk show, “The Black Gold” may have come and gone, but the positive impact it had on the attendees would surely reverberate for a long time to come.

Among the dignitaries cum speakers that graced the occasion, which held on 20th April, 2013, with their august presence were Mrs. Joan Okorodudu, CEO of ISIS Models; Mr Ayotunde Fabanwo, founder of Mr. Ideal Nigeria; Mr Babatunde Afolabi, CEO of Breeze 36 Urban, a fast-rising Lagos fashion brand; Miss Bunmi Ademokoya, the world renowned Best Model of the World in 2007, and Miss Desola Olukoju, 2nd runner up at the 2012 edition of the biggest model search in Nigeria.

The speakers gave interesting insights on how the fashion design and modeling industry can be financially empowered to bring in revenue for the country. Another speaker that captured the audience’s attention and had them glued to their seats was Barrister LadiAdeyemi, the United Nations Ambassador for Peace and Youth Development, who even vowed to help and support talented individuals who are ready to give useful ideas to alleviate the myriad of problems in the society .

To give a clearer meaning of this, he dropped off a CD of his motivational speech, and his personal website. The other speakers gave motivating speeches about their chronicles from grass to grace, and how this has helped improve and shape their once unremarkable careers.

To spice up the event, few upcoming OAU artistes performed at the event. The distribution of ‘Acada Extra Magazine’ and snacks courtesy Forks n Fingers Restaurant were side attractions that made sure guests had a wholesome experience.

The climax of the show featured the presentation of plaques of excellence to the speakers who spoke enlighteningly on the impact the entrepreneur show will have on the tertiary institution and the Nigerian youth at large.
