The families of Ojolayo in Akure, Ondo State left no stone unturned on Saturday, April 29, 2017, to celebrate their patriarch, Pa Joseph Adebiyi Ojolayo on his 80th birthday.
With great stride, Pa Ojolayo, agile and looking bright walked into the hallway of the church, accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Victoria Omolola Ojolayo, the children and grandchildren.
Pa Ojolayo, a devout Christian, is a regular worshipper at the St.Theresa Catholic Church, Egbe Road, Ayedun, Akure Ondo State. It was a glorious day for the Octogenarian who was surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren and members of his extended family on the auspicious occasion.
In attendance was the His Royal Highness, the Deji of Akure, Oba Adesida Afunbiowo and a representative of His Imperial Majesty, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, eminent traditional chiefs and elders to celebrate with Pa Ojolayo.
During the Thanksgiving Service, Pa Joseph Adebiyi receives showers of prayers from the cleric who extolled his virtues as a committed Christian and a community leader.
The party train moved from the church to the reception, a venue withiN the church premises, where guests were hosted to a sumptuous reception.
His wife, Mrs. Victoria Omolola Ojolayo, full of admiration for her husband, praised God for sparing the octogenarian’s life, prospering the children and vowed that if there is reincarnation, she would marry the amiable Pa Ojolayo, again.
The first fruit of the loins of Pa Ojolayo, Mrs. Monisola Gbangbalasa, shared her fond moments with her dad: “My father is humble, honest, caring and God fearing person. I remember when I was in the secondary school as a boarding student, I never lacked. Anytime I send a Day student home, I never get disappointed. He always made sure whatever I asked for I get it. When I left Nigeria 1989 for the US, we were trying to build a house, we sent money to our father he built the house and we came back 1994 for the house warming. we were shocked at the very mighty building our father built for us. We were so surprised. we had to ask him: ‘Did you add your money?’ He’s a very honest man, he’s been helping friends, family, and neighbors. I thank God for making him celebrate his 80th birthday today”
Beaming with smiles, Pa Ojolayo drenched in goodwill messages and a gale of tributes from members of the family and children expressed his joy and appreciation to all. “I am very happy and grateful to those whose came from far and near to come celebrate with me on my birthday and I pray great and joyful things shall not depart from their homes and they shall be celebrated. I wish everyone journey mercies to their destinations.”
Flanked his wife, children, and grandchildren, he cut the birthday cake and in turns with well-wishers.
Full of joy, Pa Ojolayo took to the dance floor and danced like the Biblical David to the pulsating rhythm of the Juju musician on the bandstand.
