It was a day of joy for Rev. and Dr. (Mrs.) G. O. Akindele’s family when they gave out their lovely daughter, Abimbola’s hand in marriage to her heathrob, Adewale, of Mr. and Mrs. S. O. Demehin’s family, on Saturday, May 17th, 2014, at The Event Centre, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos.
The bride, who is a younger sister to respected Nollywood actress and Glo ambassador, Funke Akindele, looked every bit radiant as she sparkled with smiles of happiness on her day of joy.
A graduate of Health Safety from the University of South Wales, Wales, Abimbola fondly called Mama, met her beau in the United Kingdom (UK), where he was studying Geographic Information System at the same university.
It was an instant hit between the love struck couple when they met two years ago in school, as their flower of love blossomed unhindered by the typical storm of challenges that life often throws in the way of relationships.
Adewale, of the Ilaje stock of Ondo State, was also full of joy as he exchanged the sacred vows with the woman of his life.
Speaking on how he felt on the occasion, Adewale gushed, “I feel really fulfilled. This is a dream come true. Abimbola has been a great woman and she deserves all the joy of today. She is a great lady, a caring mother of our son. ” To the bride, Abimbola: “Adewale is a caring man. He showed me love from the first time we met in the varsity. He has never changed, he loves, cares and believes in me. He is a good father, a great support and a strong pillar.’’
With broad smiles, the bride’s mother expressed her joy unspeakable. “I feel great. I thank God for everything: for the fulfilment and manifestation of today in our lives. She advised the couple to put God first in everything they do. “They should believe in the powers of prayers because it is everything and success would be their portion in Jesus’ name.’’
Also expressing her joy, Funke Akindele wished the couple well saying, “I’m happy for both of them, and I wish them a very peaceful and love-filled marriage. In addition, may God make them the best of friends to each other,”she prayed.
Families and friends, including top management staff of Globacom were present in their numbers to rejoice with the couple, and to dispense timely words of advice at the exclusive event which was tightly secured. There was ample supply of food and choice drinks which were served by ever reliable BONIX Drinks, and guests were free to help themselves to whatever they desired. The Top Band churned out popular covers and showered encomiums on the couple and distinhuished guests. The wedding party continued with DJ Exclusive on the wheel of steel dishing music that heaved the dance floor and got everybody dancing. Get a copy of E24-7 MAGAZINE on Monday for more pictures.
